Former Fresno physician and former director of the medical institutes for Fresno County. He served as Fresno County medical director from 1955 to 1960, retiring from public service in that year to enter private practice. He came to Fresno in 1952 as Fresno County director of TB control. Prior to accepting that position he had served as medical director of the Ahwahnee Sanatorium in Madera County since 1943. Diddy, a specialist in diseases of the chest was a former president of the California Sanatorium Association and the California Trudeau Society. He was a member of the Fresno Community Council Board of directors, the County, State and National Medical Associations and the California and American Thoracic Associations, and was a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He headed the Fresno County TB and Health association as director in 1953 and as president in 1962. He received the Dr. Henry A. Randal Award, given annually to a County resident for outstanding service to the TB program in 1964. A graduate of the University of Iowa medical school in 1938, Diddy interned in a Los Angeles hospital and served as resident physician at the Santa Clara County hospital from 1939 to 1943. Diddy was a member of the executive board of the Mid Valley TB and Health Association. He also was a member of E. Clampus Vitus and the Lannaec Society.
